julia day: let the glasses do the reading
My mom was reading the newspaper one day when my three-year-old niece Julia decided to get involved.
Julia: (Pointing at a picture with its accompanying story.) Mama, basahin mo 'tong d'yaryo.
Mama: Ay, di ko mababasa 'yan, mamaya na.
J: Bakit?
M: Wala kasi akong salamin.
J: Yung salamin ko na lang (her Tweetie Bird sunglasses) 'pakuha mo, at ako na lang babasa!

Julia: (Pointing at an article's photograph) Mama, can you read the paper for me?
Mama: I can't right now. I'll do it later.
J: Why not?
M: I don't have my eyeglasses.
J: (Thinking of her Tweetie Bird sunglasses) What about my eyeglasses? Go get it and I'll read this myself.
