Choice is good, but sometimes too much is, well, too much.

iPhone365 #221: dog food

Eli's favorite is the Chunky Beef, Bacon, and Cheese flavor, although he inhales the others just as fast.

iPhone365 #217: sunny morning

After almost a week of cold, wet days, sunny Sunday morning is a welcome change.

Looking at kitchen wall shelves, not sure which one will work.

iPhone365 #215: tricks

A couple of other tricks in addition to coffee that perk me up at work: gum and chocolate.

iPhone365 #213: rain

It's the second day of strong wind and heavy rain, topped with tornado warnings and flooding at the intersection outside my work as if the San Diego river was backing up like a clogged sink. It's kinda fun!

iPhone365 #212: tilapia

Marilyn made baked spiced tilapia wrapped around asparagus for dinner. Who said healthy can't be yummy?

iPhone365 #210: pho

While it seemed like the rest of the city was heading to the stadium or to a Chargers party, we were driving to Saigon Restaurant to have some of the best pho in town.

iPhone365 #209: impromptu chicken

I woke up starving after my "migraine nap" but didn't feel like going to the store for groceries. I opened the fridge and found garlic, an onion, tomatoes, a potato, a carrot, some green beans, and some chicken meat. With a little oil, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and a dash of sugar, the concoction went well over steamed rice.

iPhone365 #208: bright orange

The colors are a bit unnatural (I think they dip the flowers' tips in dye) but I bought them anyway. The kitchen feels sunnier with them on the windowsill.

iPhone365 #205: zoning out

1. Took the trolley home.
2. Zoned out.
3. Missed my station.

iPhone365 #204: banbu

Remembering while getting onto the freeway that our go-to Japanese restaurant was closed on Mondays, we had to quickly think of an alternate dinner plan and decided to go to Banbu Sushi off Fletcher Parkway. It was our first time, and we weren't disappointed. The food was good and service was friendly.

iPhone365 #202: ferry line

We decided to be tourists for the day: took the trolley to downtown and walked to the pier to catch the ferry to Coronado.

iPhone365 #201: filling up

This is definitely one of the things that I don't particularly enjoy doing.

iPhone365 #199: aisle five

Question: What do you get when you come home starving, then eat too much too fast?

Answer: An unplanned trip to the drugstore to get some antacids.

iPhone365 #198: sick out

And so I didn't go to work today and slept most of the day hoping my sinus headache would go away. And it did. Then, I stunk up the whole house in the evening pan-broiling some salmon in the kitchen instead of outside on the grill stove because I didn't want to stand out there in the cold.

I don't feel well. I'm going to bed early tonight. Really early. おやすみなさい。

iPhone365 #196: pie fail

How does one screw up a pre-cooked dish? I tried to "make" my first pie tonight: a frozen Claim Jumper peach pie. It was a watery mess -- not enough heat or not enough time in the oven. But we ate it anyway. I used a fork because I didn't have a straw.

iPhone365 #195: mall lunch

After dropping off Michael at the airport, Marilyn and I had lunch at the food court in Mission Valley. That was my first time there. It's strange how it is tucked away from the main artery of the mall.

Mimosa on the first morning of 2010; may the new year be as sweet and bubbly.
