iPhone365 #251: food binge

Today, by eating a chicken pot pie, a slice of motherlode 6-layer chocolate cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, I ate way more than my day's calorie allowance. Oh well, the cake was on the house so I couldn't say no.

iPhone365 #248: pull, aim, squeeze, sweep

Got some hands-on today on using a fire extinguisher. The instructor gave us an alternative option to pull-aim-squeeze-sweep: pass-around-scream-scram.

iPhone365 #246: branches

While I was waiting for Henry, I happened to look at a lamp post and thought for a second that it had sprouted branches.

iPhone365 #245: rainbow

A full rainbow, from horizon to horizon, is something I don't see too often in San Diego. This afternoon we were in for a treat. Too bad the iPhone shot doesn't show it too well. Can you see it?

iPhone365 #244: never delete

I took a picture of my niece in low light in the car without flash. It turned out blurry and washed out, as expected. But I never delete any image I take. Today I thought about her so I put up this blurry image as my desktop background on my computer at work. Not bad, not bad at all.

I received a bunch of flowers today at work for being a good boy. I wish I got a designated parking space with it.

iPhone365 #238: sunday java

Spending a quiet evening in the neighborhood Starbucks, catching up with things that have something to do with computers and the internet, remembering that it is Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year.

Love and be loved (thanks, Chris) and Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

iPhone365 #236: crabs

I've never been to Joe's Crab Shack before, so my craving for crabs today was a good excuse to go. Loud music, dancing waiters, and humiliating birthday songs is the restaurant's signature gimmick, I quickly found out. The crabmeat dip is a good excuse to go back -- creamy and crabby.

This condominium complex across the street from our interior design studio is one of my favorite new buildings in the city.

iPhone365 #231: griffith pendulum

After spending the day on Hollywood Boulevard following stars on the sidewalk and comparing shoe sizes with dead actors in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater (I know, it's cliché tourist stuff, but it was fun), we went up to the Griffith Observatory up the hill to check out the cool nerdy things inside and the magnificent view of the Los Angeles basin outside.

iPhone365 #229: wet again

The rain came as predicted, but not as much as expected. It's supposed to last until tomorrow, so I might have to wait and take the bicycles to the shop another day.

iPhone365 #226: usd

We made the University of San Diego campus part of our postprandial walking "exercise" at work. Besides providing us with a steep hill on our route, the campus has beautiful buildings that make the walk a bit more like a trip to the park.

iPhone365 #225: prado flan

I discovered my new favorite dessert at The Prado. Our waiter gave it a fancy crème brûlée-cum-cheesecake name which I can't remember, but when the helper brought it out of the kitchen he simply called it "flan". I like that better. Call me simple.
