I made some tortang talong tonight. Since I used the big, fat ones from the supermarket and not the Japanese variety, there were no stems sticking out on the side and it looked more like a pancake. ~
This was taken on westbound Highway 94 at a speed of around 60 miles per hour: Driving While Texting on the fast lane, total disregard for safety. (I was in the backseat, just in case you're wondering.) ~
We just finished my first dish that didn't taste like the typical garlic-onion-tomato stirfry I usually concoct. Sesame oil and sweetened vinegar made a big difference. ~
I thought I'd start reading this book tonight that I borrowed from Matthew last night, but I think I'll wait until I finish The Zookeeper's Wife. It seems like I have been reading that book for ages. ~
Just finished a one-hour training on electronic time/attendance monitoring system. [Start music here.] "I always feel like... somebody's watching me..." ~
We were brave to try an unknown restaurant in an unfamiliar town: Big Lem's Barbecue and Soul Food in Oroville, California. Check out my Yelp! review for an account of our experience. ~
For one reason or another, I always end up at Nation's Hamburger whenever I am in San Francisco. First: cheeseburgers. Second: pecan pie. Third: strawberry tart. ~
We usually get our cheap hole-in-the-wall Chinese food on Wednesdays, but because of my crazy Wedneday schedule, we did it today. Grease + MSG = yum. ~
Parking lot. An old pair of shoes neatly placed next to the bushes. No other person in sight. Strange. Was it left there on purpose? Is there a hidden video cam somewhere? I take a picture and walk away. Hmm. I might have just missed a chance to be on TV... ~
For the second morning in a row, I woke up with mild vertigo. The last time this happened I was catching a cold. I hope not this time -- I'm going to Lake Tahoe next week. Having a cold in the cold is no fun. ~
We decided to pack some lunch and go to the lake for a walk. Just like our picnic at the Mission Gorge dam, this walk ended up to be a short one: to the picnic table and back to the car. ~
