quiet sunday evening

While Michael did his homework today, I washed the kitchen floor, oiled the butcher block countertops, trimmed the bush cherry hedge, thinned some of the oleander, pulled weeds from the vegetable patch, and moved river rocks to the backyard. Now I'm sitting in a quiet house reading a book while Michael takes his midterm exam. It was a good day.
