freezing high desert night

Clear, crisp, and cold night in Twentynine Palms where the temperature tonight dips below freezing.  Earlier, at my nephew's first birthday party, when my aunt and I sat down on our assigned chairs to play a parlor game, a five-year-old kid jumped up and screamed delightedly, "The old people are playing!"  Ouch...

valentine's day gift

A coworker complained to her husband after Valentine's day last year why he always bought her flowers from Costco that she needed to arrange and had to look for a vase to put them in. "Why do you make me dig around for a vase all the time?" she nagged. Today he bought her a vase without any flowers.
